they will blow your mind, the ones that walk and talk start out as toys, thats why I stress always build them small, trust me.check out the movie small soldiers to give you an idea of what I mean.

regulation of robot sizes
I think the smart thing to do when it comes to human-like future robotics advancement (walk and talk) is making it a law or a moral that they can be no larger than a certain size, perhaps 2 or 3 feet tall. I would rather a small robot malfunction than a large one. any other perspectives or opinions? I think they are gonna be all-in-one PDA's with personality, sort of like C3P0 with all different personalities. but small enough to fit in most overhead compartments.
I think the size should be small, almost like a pirate with a parrot, a little robot on your shoulder that can project 3D holograms, capture audio and video, transmit communication I guess just like i robot but way smaller and definitely no wireless. I hope these things are being considered, did you see that 600 pound honda, its cool, but too big, there is also a picture of a smaller scale one from sony but I think it is still to big. I think they will come around
you know what I was thinking, the movie flubber is a good example of what I mean, that little hovering robot shaped almost like a UFO. in another post I talk about robots like in the movie "small soldiers" that are small but interactive and can serve a purpose and maintain a low threat level. I think there will be toys for kids and PDA's for adults.
I dont want to get raunchy, but you know, that I know, that you know that I know, people are going to want replace "blow up dolls" with "sex dolls" (the kind that move) in the future maybe as an alternative to cheating or not being able to find that special someone. lonely scientists out there my friends, not every chick digs the brainiac's - na'mean. you dont have to be a time traveler to figure that out, they made movies about this stuff and we know usually invention and design come from movies alot these days.
optimus
I think safety should always be priority one with these robots (interactive AI kind with arms, legs, head, etc.) Also I am thinking this kind of stuff would be way in the future and out of the average humans of this age's lifetime. like in the year 2300 or something but I am guessing. I think these days a robot still feels like a machine more than AI and military applications will drive this field keeping that machine feel.
sooner or later someone is going to figure out how to copy human and animal brain memories onto disk, once that happens you never know. once any life form is created by god or not, respect will keep it positive, a cross polinated plant (man made) is a good example for this metaphor. look at bicentennial man (the movie with robbin williams) I think the main robot character in that movie would be recognized by god with a soul if it was reality and not a movie and just think it starts as a robot and in the end he has a heart, lungs, penis, etc. he only could not procreate, but again that was a movie.
